Last year Michael and his son Eli, together with other Dads and sons from Belmont Grosvenor School, took part in the Great Yorkshire bike ride from Wetherby to Filey, which is 72 miles to cycle in a day! Michael persuaded his local GP to go along too – useful in case of any mishaps’ Michael is seen regularly training on the roads of North Yorkshire scaring the motorists in his shorts! It’s all for an excellent cause however, as the charity Michael supports is Martin House Children’s Hospice. This year Michael will be taking part in the Way of the Roses, Britain’s newest ‘coast-to-coast’ cycle route. The Way of the Roses route runs for 170 well signed miles between Morecambe on Lancashire’s Irish Sea coast and Bridlington on Yorkshire’s North Sea coast. It passes through the historic cities of York and Lancaster, and lesser known gems such as Settle, Pateley Bridge and Ripon. It’s a challenging, but rewarding cycle! Good luck Michael!
Michael will be continuing his cycling activities in 2012
